"Hello Kasey, I just wanted to let you know that Justin scored really well on his Spanish IB Exam and received 4 hours of credit at JMU as a result. He would not have gained the confidence to perform so well had he not recieved the tutoring from you. We appreciate all that you did."
"I wanted to let you know one more time ... how appreciative we are for all of your wonderful tutoring this year! You truly saved him though because he liked working with you, appreciated your knowledge and patience, and motivated him to realize he could succeed. Your organization, your communication with me and the teacher, and your flexibility in scheduling definitely made the year less stressful! If I can ever offer you a referral or recommendation I certainly will -- A+"
"You are the kindest tutor to Redding. We are so lucky to have found you! He really gets a lot out of his tutoring sessions with you Kasey."
"Kasey, Thank you for all of your help with Isabella and her spanish. She really enjoyed working with you. If we see the need to get some additional help this year, I will definitely be in touch. Please feel free to use us as a reference if ever you have the need. Thank you again, "
"Just wanted to let you know that I was surprised and thrilled today when Courtney was inducted into the Spanish honors society during this morning’s chapel. I knew she was being inducted into NHS, but had no idea that she’s pulled Spanish up enough to meet that requirement as well. Thank you so much for all of your work with her!"
"Dan Lawrence here-- MB's dad. We cannot thank you enough for your hardwork and efforts with MaryBeth over the past 4 months. Not only is she excelling in Spanish but she now truly enjoys it, plays with it at home, and has the confidence she lacked at the beginning. AWESOME job. In this world, there are not enough good things said or acknowledged-----so, we want to reach out and say Thanks!"
"Thanks so much Kasey! Courtney is REALLY enjoying working with you! She looks forward to the sessions and has great comments on how her overall comprehension of Spanish is improving. She told me the other day "I can't believe I'm really starting to know what I'm doing, it feels great!". I can't thank you enough for the huge impact you've had on her over such a short period of time."
"I just thought I would update you on Codie... They got their interims and she got an "A" in Spanish, what a big difference since the very first interim and that was an "F". Tutoring was one of the best education investments I have made, and the rewards are so great. "
"Kasey, We want to thank you for all your help that you have given our son. It is amazing that last year when he started with you he was failing Spanish and now he has a "B"! We saw an improvement immediately. Our son has enjoyed working with you and has felt very comfortable. We can not thank you enough! Please feel free to use me if you ever need a reference. "
Here's A Little More About Me...
If your child is struggling with Spanish right now and needs help… it’s important to know a little about who will be tutoring them, right?
Well, here it goes!
I’m a 1994 graduate of Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond and a 1998 graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
I currently reside in Midlothian with my husband, Ken, our two feisty cats, and one crazy dog named Zep. I received my B.A. in Modern Foreign Languages with my major in Spanish and a focus in Latin American studies.
Your child will benefit from the nine years of my experience in teaching and tutoring Spanish to young people as well as teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to Spanish speaking children and adults in both the Richmond and Harrisonburg communities.
I am committed to continued learning and development for both myself and others. Even though learning another language can be challenging, the rewards are immeasurable for your child. No one is too young nor too old to start the process of learning another language. (and the sooner, the better!)
Is Your Child A Good Fit For My Tutoring Services?
I love working with students of all ages and helping them to build a strong foundation in the Spanish language in their first years of Spanish. The first year is a critical one because it builds the base of the language knowledge, and students will have to rely on this foundation throughout their Spanish speaking careers.
It is also the introduction of a new language, and it needs to be something that students enjoy and are excited to learn. Often times if the student is struggling, it can be very discouraging for them as well as affect their feelings toward wanting to learn another language!
